Oleksandr Romanko won 1st prize in the poster competition at the 2007 CMS/MITACS conference in Winnipeg. Our most sincere congratulations to Sasha for his third award this year!

Our team of Kimia Ghobadi, Olesya Peshko, Imre Pólik and Oleksandr Romanko won first prize at the 1st CORS/VISUAL8 Student Simulation Competition. The event was sponsored by the Visual8 Corporation as part of the 2007 Canadian Operational Research Society conference held in London (ON), May 13-16, 2007.

Our team of Kimia Ghobadi, Olesya Peshko and Oleksandr Romanko won the first prize at the 1st International Operations Research Case Competition (IORCC 2007), held at Simon Fraser University, January 21-23, 2007 as part of the 2nd International Conference on Algorithmic Operations Research (AlgOR 2007). We congratulate the winners.

Imre Polik, a PhD student at the Advanced Optimization lab won the best paper award of MITACS in 2006. Our congratulations.

Dinghui Yang, a former visitor of the Advanced Optimization Laboratory, won the scientific award in China in 2005. Our congratulations.

Maziar Salahi, member of the Advanced Optimization Laboratory, won the best student paper prize of MITACS in 2005. Our congratulations.

   

Congratulations to Antoine Deza, who has been awarded a Canada Research Chair in Combinatorial Optimization in September 2004.

Zhuo Zheng, member of the Advanced Optimiztion Laboratory, won second prize for the best graduate presentation at the WindSOR/SWORD 2004 (Windsor Student Operational Research Day / South Western Ontario Operational Research Day). Our congratulations.

 

   

Stephen Stoyan, member of the Advanced Optimiztion Laboratory, won first prize at the MITACS (Mathematics of Information Technolgy and Complex Systems) student poster competition for his work on "Optimizing RF Pulses in MRI via Optimal Control." Our congratulations to all contributors - Christopher K. Anand, Stephen J. Stoyan and Tamás Terlaky.

   

Oleksandr Romanko, member of the Advanced Optimiztion Laboratory, won the Canadian Operational Research Society student paper competition prize for the paper "Sensitivity Analysis in Convex Quadratic Optimization: Simultaneous Perturbation of the Objective and Right-Hand-Side Vectors." Our congratulations to all authors of the paper - Alireza Ghaffari Hadigheh, Oleksandr Romanko and Tamás Terlaky.
