Abstract:

In this talk, we discuss the novel 0-1 conic optimization model recently introduced by the author and his colleagues. We show how numerous applications including data clustering, communication and information theory and chemical process can be embedded into the new optimization model. Approximation algorithms for the new optimization model will be discussed and experiments based on data cluster analysis will be reported. Finally, we will discuss some open questions with respect to the new optimization model.
