Title: Large scale non-linear optimization and the design of circuits

In this talk I will present aspects of our work at IBM on applying a large-scale nonlinear optimization technique to circuit tuning. In particular, we are solving real problems with tens of thousands of constraints and variables, we terminate long before the asymptotic convergence is visible and there are significant advantages to the simple modifications we need to incorporate to "solve" such problems.
